Hi All ....I AM NOT SPAMMING ! I just want some tech info ...

I have signed up to BT Infinity and want to use my own router instead of the H Hub 3 BT Supply, I,m a bit confused regarding what i need for fibre Optic ,am i correct in saying that the Asus RT-N56U will work along with the BT Modem they supply on installing the service ? :confused:

Well the thread is about BT Infinity and it only has an Ethernet port on the WAN side so yes this means you will require the BT Openreach VDSL modem.

With the BT VDSL modem you are able to use any router that has an Ethernet port on the WAN side as long as the router supports PPPoE (and as far as I'm aware, they all will).

oh thank you !! someone who answers a thread without a wise crack :) you have help me to understand what i wanted to know ..;)

jamjar, perhaps if you have so many questions rather than creating tons of threads, just create a general networking thread and put all of your questions in that, or just search/wikipedia and you will have most of your answers already.

He won't listen.

I bet he'll make another thread about BT within a few days.

Please, please stop using commas in place of apostrophes. It honestly makes me feel ill just looking at it. :)

I don't usually nitpick people's punctuation, but a quick skim of your posting history tells me you don't know the difference between a comma and an apostrophe.

' = apostrophe
, = comma

I don't usually nitpick people's punctuation, but when I do, I make sure they'll learn!
