My rig in sig.

I can overclock to 3.2 easily with Vcore at 1.4v
No other voltages need changing, I can do 356x9 or 400x8. Both work well & are stable, ram running 1:1
I cant even get 3.3 though, let alone 3.4 or 3.6 which is my goal.

I can put a bit of extra voltage into the ND etc along with 1.45v to get 3.4 but it wont prime, it blue screens. Even at 1.5v through the cpu prime will blue screen, ram not overclocked at all.

What shall I try now? It just seems impossible going over 3.2 :(

I had similar issues getting stability, but a little bit of patience and I solved it. Here are my settings for 3.6ghz with a similar setup to yours...

Go for 400 x 9 and set the RAM to 1:1.25

vcore of 1.52 bios (1.42 - 1.43 under Prime95 load according to uGuru)
VTT at 1.23
MCH at 1.29

All other voltages are default, except for the RAM which I have set to 2.0v.

You will need to watch the PWM temps. I have removed the heatpipe assembly and replaced the stock transfer tape garbage with Ceramique on everything. I also have a 60mm fan hovering above the PWMs and 2x 40mm fans on the Northbridge.

I managed to get the temps to stabilize at 69,67,69,67 for the CPU and 70c for the PWMs.

Mind you, that was open bench testing, I have yet to get everything up and running in my case.

I'll try this, cheers

Ok.
Trying your settings now.
3.6 crashed as I pressed start on Prime, nice blue screen.
3.4 on those settings works. Will prob drop chipset down to stock volts as it's native 1600
Running in a Akasa Eclipse, front & rear 120mm fans & Tuniq tower on CPU its running prime stable, 74c. Is this temp safe? I doubt it'll ever run at this temp when not using prime...

So how can I get 3.6? :(

Tbh your chip might not even be able to do 3.6 i had my last q6600 @ 3.5 and no matter what i did i just could'nt get it stable @3.6 .
Did'nt matter how many volts i put through it or what ratio i set it to just did'nt want to know.
The q6600 i have now is so different it got to 3.4 without even changing any settings , to get stable @ 3.6 had it running with 1.4 volts, and stable @ 3.8 i have 1.5 volts running through it.
All chips are different none are Guaranteed to overclock that great just lucky if you do get 1

should be ok but tbh but if you are worried then i would try dropping the voltage as much as i could untill u find that sweet spot or try re-seating the heatsink
less voltage means less heat i.e lower temps

So long as that's Small FFT's (really heats the CPU to the max!) then I would have no problem with that temp. It's never going to get anywhere even close to that during normal use.

Yer true but I wouldnt clock any higher. i can tell with out reading all your posts you are using air. What CPU cooler you got mate ?
