I'm just about to build a complete new system, it's mostly going to be used for editing 4K video, editing photos and a bit of gaming from time to time.

I'm looking for a great monitor, maybe 28" but have no idea what to go for...

IPS would obviously be better for the photography/videography side of things but is there anything out that would also be good for gaming? Without crippling me financially....

Anything new coming out to wait for?

Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated!

Monitors seem to update quite slowly.

The main question is budget?

Things get expensive if you want ips and faster refresh.

I went with a Dell P2715q
Mainly used for photo editing but it's OK for gaming.
I would have preferred a 32inch but it was too expensive.

Of your gaming is important then a higher refresh rate screen might be better but you have to pay for it.

Might also be worth looking at the Philips 43inch screen. Looks like good value for money if you want a massive screen (is was to big for me)

Do you have Nvidia or AMD? You can grab 27" IPS 4k monitors with Freesync for under 400, which seems like a nice deal.

I definitely don't want to go over 28"

It'll be a Nvidia 1070 powering it.

Budget, no more than £550 but would prefer under £500 if possible.
