I need a FooBar skin

So 52,790,400 seconds later does anyone actually have any recommendations?

When ever I try and put something together it either looks naff or it's borked. :(

Didn't even realise you could skin it :o.
Being picky, you can't, at least not in the normally accepted sense - you can however tart it up to the nth degree by using plugins and title formatting and make it look pretty much how you want, within the limits of a standard Windows... errr... window.

Each to his own I suppose, but personally I've never had much time for dressing foobar2000 up in this way - it's designed first and foremost to be a functional tool, and I've yet to see a third-party packaged "skin", theme or whatever you want to call it which doesn't hurt that functionality in one way or another. If you want eye-candy when you're accessing your music library, that's what XBMC is for. :)

Re the original question - you could do a search for "foobar2000" at deviantart.com* for some examples, and search for posts by the user "Falstaff" at HydrogenAudio, which should keep you busy for a while... don't expect everything to work out-of-the-box though, because it won't. :p

*edit: here's one which looks quite good, if you like that sort of thing. :)

Foobar love :)

Can be a slight pain making it work, however it's relative. Tweaking foobar is similar to *****ing your finger with a needle, trying to use itunes is like loosing a leg.

i recommend playing around with the default UI layout editor to add just the panels/components you want. i wrote a dunces guide here...

how to install 3rd party components - http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Foobar2000:How_to_install_a_component

2 highly recommend components:

-a replacement playlist viewer that supports inline album art. very easy to use
http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_simplaylist

-a multi-pane library viewer with support for album art
http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_facets

browse here for more... http://www.foobar2000.org/components
