I need a KVM/TFT console, but for a mobile desk?

does it need to be a sliding unit?

if not maybe look into a rack mount VESA-mount and mount your choice of TFT on it and a simple pull out tray for a keyboard/touchpad?

As iaind said, check out Startech. We bought one of their universal VESA mounts for a rack at work, fits an Iiyama 19" TFT nicely

No, you know what I need really

I need a laptop, just without the processor, memory, motherboard etc
You can buy a laptop with more features than I need for about £300, and yet for a simple KVM/TFT console which is like half a laptop, it seems to cost twice as much

Makes no sense at all..

£300 laptop - home user

£600+ KVM - Business user. Ker-ching! :D Volume of sales will come into it.

Hi guys

I need a TFT/KVM console that's suitable for a mobile desk in a server room, and doesn't cost a fortune.

Something like this for example: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/rack-options/TFT7600RKM/index.html

..but without the ridiculous cost and really it doesn't need to be a perfect 1U size and length. Any ideas?

Cheers

We've got one of those, for some reason our's has an american keyboard.

It's also widescreen which is completely daft since most server's use graphics chipsets from ancient history.

Makes perfect sense  - they're a much more niche product than laptops that are churned out in their thousands.
