Hey guys,

I'm looking for a new mouse, my G5 which I've had for over 4 years is starting to have issues with the scroll wheel (it's more stiff than normal). So I think now's a time to change it.

So far I've had this and I've had a Deathadder but the latter was horribly disposed (it was one of my fav mice).

My budget is £35/40 tops and will be for light gaming and design work. Thanks for your help guys.

I have a G500 and love it, went from a G5 to it after Logitech were so kind :)

Email logitech about it getting dodgy, their customer service is fantastic, there is a possibility you could wangle a new mouse out of them (and it will be a G500 as the G5 is EOL).
Either that or they will give you a discount voucher :)

No harm in trying!

Thanks everyone, I will look into contacting customer service but does it matter that the device is over 4 years old?

Which deathadder did you have? The newer 3500dpi one is great all rounder.

I had the older version, I am strongly considering getting ti again as it was such a great mouse I felt disappointed moving back to the G5.

Warranty for the G5 is three years, but try your luck, be nice and say you are disappointed that it's failing etc.

They're really good, a two second search on here will bring up so many threads saying how good they are. Worst they can do is say no, best is give you a G500, and they should at least give you a 40-60% discount voucher for their store :)

Ordering a DeathAdder (I feel somewhat drawn to it :D), but will deal with Logitech anyway to fix my old one. I feel like techie retail therapy today.

Thanks guys.

Just as an update,

Logitech are giving me a 50% discount which I think is MAD (I feel like shopping now ...)! Also I received my DeathAdder today, I've so missed having this mouse it's so smooth and *drools* ...

Wahay! Result!

The scroll wheel on my G5 has been having a wobble on lately too - sporadically skips scrolling, the 'pan right' feature is badly worn and hardly works at all... Good to know at least one company out there has decent customer service! Think I'll be writing them an email too :)

hi there...if u are looking buy combo...there is a great quality all in one in Logitech MK 520...its about £50...i have one of those and more than happy with the performance...laser based mouse does the job!
hope it helps
