Dunno if this is the right place or not but I need a new case. Got my rig from overclockers awhile ago now and ive had a new gpu recently, I got a 580gtx and its getting a little hot in my Xigmatek Asgard case and theres not much room for improvements. Plus a friend got a lower end system then mine and got a Beast of a case kinda made me jealous I guess.

I am also looking to make some Hard Drive upgrades, some extra RAM and a new sound board. All of which I could install myself.

The problem is I wouldn't know where to start moving the entire contents into a new case, and am not sure I should attempt it myself. So what would people recommend I do In this situation. Is it a simple task or should I get overclockers to do it for me if possible, and would it be a simple process??

Thanks for any help

It's really simple.

-take all your components (not cpu) out of the motherboard, unplug all cables.
-unscrew the screws on the motherboard. for atx it should be 8 or 9 screws (9th hole on the corsair 600t is filled by the case to help you line up the board, idk if this is standard or not).
-take the motherboard out and rest it on a non-conductive surface
-push the motherboard IO plate in to the case until it pops free
-put the i/o plate into the new case
-align the motherboard in the new case (make sure you are using the standoffs supplied (or already installed) on the case, the case will also come with the screws to screw the mobo to these standoffs.
-screw the mobo to the standoffs (light pressure, stop turning once it's not easy to turn, do not overtighten).
-put all components back in.

great success!

I was an epic computer noob a few months back and had never really done anything inside a pc beyond installing ram. Actually just changed motherboards the other day (this was an ocuk pre-built machine) so I've recently done something pretty similar to what you're doing for the first time too.

edit, also you may have to consult the motherboard manual to hook up the front panel power/reset/hdd led and power led. I ALWAYS get them mixed up when I try to plug them back in without the manual. In fact I raged and cut the hdd led and power LED cables off.

OK when you put it that way it does look pretty simple, may have to grow a pair and give it ago.

Thanks for the help and advice, much appreciated.
