I need a new cpu after my e8400

Hi guys i need a new chip as i just sold my e8400 so what should i get i have the asus p5q pro motherboard with 4gig of kingston hyper x 1066 memory. but I dont really know much about overclocking.

i would say about 4ghz as long as its got good cpu cooler

When i was upto 3.6 it would restart once it was under pressure just not stable.

Then yeah, you dont know much about overclocking yet

3.6 is a reasonable point to be hitting stabilty problems at stock settings, thats what all the stuff under the manual tab is for. I ran my e8400 at 4ghz on my p5q without problems.

you should probably get a quad core, the q9550 on offer at the moment is excellent.
