Hi all,

I discovered recently that I need a new cpu fan as the stock one that I use with my q6600 is not clicking properly in the motherboard so its not very secure. It has caused the pc not to boot up fully on occasion.

I was considering overclocking the q6600 so could somebody recommend a good but largely inexpensive cpu fan/heatsink to replace my stock one that will also allow me to overclock my cpu?

Thanks

A Great but not Expensive cooler would be the OCZ Vendetta 2, Sadly OCUK don't stock them so I can't provide a link....
there is a store near me selling them for £25.

these two appear to be the most popular choice here in the forums espescially when overclocking on air

Thanks for that, both out of stock though :( Do they come with a fan though? As I will need both a heatsink and fan.

I wouldn't recommend either of them. The TRUE is the best but simply isn't worth the huge pricetag, and the Tuniq has a stupid pricehere, it should be priced at around half that. OCZ's Vendetta 2 is the best choice at the moment, or if you can't get that, the next best thing would be the Xigamtek HDT-S1283 (and we are still waiting to see if OcUK are going to ever stock these).

Zalman 9700 Another high end gd cooling & looks £50

Noctua One of if not the best hsf £42

AC freezer pro cheap & cheerful £15

The deciding factor around hsf is fitting space.

whats your case?

& have a look at your mobo & cheak for high caps, mosfet heatsinks etc.

How much of an OC are you thinking of doing?
