erm, i dont quite understand  you have a PCI-E capable motherboard comming, therefor any PCI-E graphics card will do, it all depends on how much you want to spend and what you want to do with it.

he is talking about the size of your case, not the features of your board :) what type of pc case do you have ?

as for the choice between the X1800XT and the 7900GT, no contest, X1800XT wins, its faster, cheaper, and more reliable.

for the newer cards, i recommend the minimum of a 400 Watt good brand psu though.

I have a hyper type r 580 watt psu and the case is just a cheap 1 with a side window lol, should I measure the case from back to start of 3.5 racks ?

ty all for helping me :)

to be honest wayne, i believe youl be fine with an X1800XT, ive got an Antec Super Lanboy, one of the smallest midi cases you can get as its designed for being dragged to LanPartys. inside it i have a nice shiney X1800XT, 2 opticle drives and a host of cooling solutions.

and worse case scenario being that it doesnt fit, you nip to your local pc supplier and spend £30 on a half decent case, just make sure you pick one with 120mm fan grills front and rear, they are most useful :)
