Ok my trusty old DGM L-2442 WD 24" 1920*1200 has finally expired after 8 years use.
So I need a new monitor, as my standby one, a 1280*1024 14" is completely doing my head in.
Ideally I want a 32" 4K panel 144Hz with HDR and Gsync, but seeing as such a monitor doesn't exist yet and even if it did it would be extortionately expensive, I have to be a bit more realistic.
Budget constraints being what they are I can stretch to around £250, maybe a little more if it is really worth it. I am an NVidia user, currently with a 970, but I am looking to upgrade to a 1070, when I can decide which one to go for (so far the Zotac amp at a mere £400 cough cough, is looking the best option).
Now having had a 24" 1920*1200 monitor for the last 8 years I do feel loath to go down to a mere 1080p, but with 27" 1440p and up being rather expensive, even though there are a couple of 60Hz TN panels available.
There is the super wide option with a couple of choices, 29" 2560*1080 does sound appealing and then there is a 24" 144hz Gsync monitor that is just about affordable for me.
I would love to go bigger, or have a higher refresh rate, but it would seem that I cannot have both within budget.
These are the monitors that have caught my eye, but I still have no idea what to do, so any thoughts would be appreciated.
