I need a new pc and I'm clueless

My pc is well overdue an upgrade, infact it's so overdue that it's not even worth salvaging any of the old components.

My current pc is a XP2500, 1gb PC3200, Abit NF7, 9700 etc...

I've not been involved with the pc hardware industry for some time, so this is why I'm asking you guys for help. I want to get back into gaming.

I'm happy to keep my current keyboard, mouse and LCD monitor.

Ideally I don't want to spend anymore than £650

Intel, Amd, Ati or Nvidia, I'm not fussed, whatever offers the best bang for buck.

I've got a Lian Li pc case already, it's a couple of years old now, is it worth keeping it, or will it not be compatible?

find out what that costs then pick a nice graphics card to match

This would be a reasonable gaming system, motherboard and CPU give you good overclocking potential. E4300 might be better for clocking though.

honestly go for corsair psu, read through the forums not a bad review, the most popular psu atm and 5 year warranty, silent, modular and look very nice
