what can I play? Im constantly working late and often have several hours waiting for something before i have to do the next step.

my laptop would be VERY rubbish for playing games, i think it just uses integrated graphics... is an ibm thinkpad x41.

Im not into RPG. Anything else tho... :p

LFS! I took my iPod in, loaded it onto the iPod and then when I had a few spare minutes plugged it in and loaded it off the drive :D It will run on a fairly low spec machine. Ours are Dell optiplex or whatever, I don't know, but they use integrated graphics.

I love having the best seat in the office :D Mind you, if my boss knew, I'm sure I'd be sacked! :o

Absolutely nothing, unless you're 100% certain that your IT division don't monitor what's running on PCs across the estate.
Our own team most certainly actively check what's on PCs, especially when the PC experiences issues.
I remember a lovely phone call last year from one of our techies, something like:

"hey, mr_s we have a user with a broken laptop"
"really, any particular reason why"
"not sure, but it could be something to do with the Fifa2005 installation on it, which I'm sure isn't part of the standard build..."

Companies take a VERY dim view of non-authorised software being installed on their kit, for one thing, they are liable for licensing of products running on their kit. Is it worth putting your job at risk.

Take a book to work.

Yep - that's why I will only play the demo version and not install it, so it runs from a removable drive. I only work for them over Summer now, but it's too much of a risk, especially as they're related to my degree so the reference is needed.

Albatross 18 is a great game and is playable in window mode. Its a golf mmo thats free (well for top kit you need to pay) and very addictive. I'm playing their world cup semi final tonight - come the phoenix.

http://www.albatross18.com - Thursday is server maintenace day so wont be playabe till 1pm

I sit and play AOE3 during lunch, also if I'm in the mood I might play a bit of pro evo 5 :D I suppose it helps when your dad owns the company and the tech guys don't care too much :D
