Are there any good space simulator games? I want to play a space game with little to no fighting to be able to fly your own spaceship and use speed of light boost. Imagine flying through space with amazing graphics and you can discover all the planets being able to land on them and you have to find hidden stuff or solve puzzles. You can walk around your spaceship to and just watch the view out the window of the stars and planets. Maybe even build your own spaceship and launch it. It would be cool to land on new planets and discover alien tech or something.

Don't say spore.

I'll try X3 looks good visually, Kerbal looks a bit childish. I guess computers aren't powerful enough yet to for a game like this as landing on planets and roaming is too big, it would be like grand theft auto sized x 999.

Orbiter needs better graphics no point exploring if the gfx suck, kills the immersion. It looks like a realistic flight simulator for space I'm after a more casual game as I don't know anything about flying a spaceship.

Battlecruiser.

That or whatever sequel in the series, pretty much what you're asking for.

All aside the amazing graphics though, pc stoped doing that in the genre.... not that battlecruiser ever did mind:)

Eve has no landing on planets and Dust514 doesn't count. And tbh the exploration aspects to Eve are boring as you get. With the more recent updates its getting to be quite a good looking game so free trial and roll about highsec a bit might keep you interested for awhile.

Project infinity is one big troll.

:-( Starting to think that myself but then we have some nice stuff coming along in the Outerra engine so we can live in hope there. They were demoing the Infinity Engine at trade shows though so I think there is something there they just need to leave it as an engine and let another make the game preferably Xwing vs Tiefigher vs Elite vs Star Trek with a fair bit of Roguelike a smattering of Eve and X3 and some of the FTL. Not asking much am I ...

Problem with infinity is they are aiming too big and too procedural which ultimately ends up dull with the best of intentions.
