I need a sub £1k diesel!

Having a very low car doesnt bode well with construction sites so I need something more practical ideally.

What stuff is there for less than a grand, I was thinking Mondeos and the like but not sure on what engine/trim to go for.

Help!

The deisel engine on early Mondeos isn't ment to be very refined or powerful (I think it was developed for the transit).

I'd also look at 405/406s and Xantias (with adjustable ground clearence) with the 1.9 Turbo Diesel engine.

You might also want to look out for diesel VW Vento, often over looked because a lot of people don't know what they are. My old one had 207k on the clock when I scrapped it.

Bit of everything mate, steel fixing, carpentry, labouring, driving.
