I need a tablet or laptop to watch videos and browse the web in bed.

Price limit is around £350. Would prefer android.

What out there is good atm?

N7 v2. maybe Nexus 10.

although with that budget I'll probably be looking at iPad Mini with retina, or even iPad 4.

would 7" be enough for you or do you want 10"?

for what you want notebook is not really an option.

I don't really like the N7 V2, the massive amount of space at the top/bottom puts me off.

Does the iPad Mini have retina or would I be waiting around for a V2?

I'd obviously prefer a 10" and the Xperia Z was looking nice but I'm unsure on the OS.

I wish HTC would make a HTC One 10.1/7

current mini is the lower resolution version.

if Android is required, I'd wait for the announcement of updated Nexus 10, which should be along new Nexus 5 lauch.

you'd then have a choice of either picking up cheaper 1st gen, which is still very capable or the updated one.

How much storage do you want? sd slot important?

Xperia Z is a nice tab, I have one. - I wouldn't pay £390 for one now though, it will probably be refreshed by the end of the year.

2013 Nexus 10 should be good for you if you only need 32GB max. Coming out in the next 4 weeks.

The big bezel on either end is actually quite useful makes it very easy to hold one handed.

From my brief ownership of a Surface RT, flash worked very well. A little slow perhaps, put Tegra 4 should fix that. And the comparatively big 16:9 screen was great for watching video.

As for apps, I'd have a look here to check that the ones you use are available.

Although IMO a slightly smaller tablet like the Nexus 10 (which I now have) is more comfortable for using in bed.

The keyboard isn't included, your looking at £65-110 extra depending on which one you get. Not that it's at all comfortable to use in bed.

Facebook app is apparently coming soon, and there's already Netflix/Twitter apps which are pretty good. But yes your right, other flash sites like YouTube and iPlayer work well in the browser, the only thing is the controls are quite small as they're designed for KBM, but it's not a big issue.
