I need an MP3 player - that will display the folders on the SD card...

The thread title says it all, really. I have a couple of oldish Mercedes, which cannot stream via Bluetooth (and nor can I; I don't have music on my phone). The cheap 'n cheerful Chinese units work OK, but I haven't found one that can display the folders on the SD card I use to store my music so that I can choose which folder to play from next. Can anyone recommend such a player, which must have a 3.5mm headphone jack to connect to the car?

But battery life might be an issue?

Old Samsung android mp3 player.
Cowon used to do good battery and quality sound, J3 was phenomenal.
Sansa Clip Plus has SD and well regarded. But unsure on folder viewing.

A good tag editor might be worth using on your computer if you can't get one that does folder view and SD support.

fiio x1 2nd gen can browse folders. also has line out.

My rockboxed players can do this. Sands clip and river h140. Converted h140 to 128gb microsd card didn't cost that much just couple of adapters and 128gb card

Well if he's using it in the car he can just plug it in to the charger, so battery life isn't an issue.
