Hey, looking for a new game to tickle my fancy, I have played Crysis Warhead and realy enjoyed it. what games could be recomended with plenty eye candy, im runing sli and a quad core so should manage anything.

Open to most except mmorpg's

like the look of flight sims too

I have stalker Shaddow or chernobyl but got sereously bored of it. i mite borrow it from my mate first, i know a certian shops selling it for £9.99
Fallout has been catching my eye may see about that,

Never realy been a fan of GTA but then again i havent played it since San andreas and then i was only young

GRiD

Graphically, very very good. And a good game to boot. One of the games of 2008 IMO.

To start off with i just read your name and it didnt look lik count cussy more along the lines of cu..cussy, anyways on with the post.

Grid is an Awesome game,. i need to load it back onto my machine, just did a format and got wrid of it all. im playing grid with the 360 pad, unfortunatley the wireless receiver reeks havock with my Digital headfones.

Dirt 2 is apparently in the pipe line. i need to get into Grid more tho not played much.

What CPU cooler would be recomended for getting 3.2 from a processor? i have stock now and dont fancy spending 30-40 quid id spend up to 30 at a push.

I was always under the impression that it was mostly design programs and photoshop that utalise all cores.

im enjoying the gameplay and the graphics of this game too, its mint climbing high on a rock somewhere and sniping enemies and they cant find you, very satisfying when you blast them with a silence dart in the eye :D

Now that sounds fun, thats usualy ma tactic for Battlefield 2 climb a crane or something lol.

Far cry trailer doesnt do it for me buthen again game may be ok

Assassin's Creed. I've had several "wow" stop and look at the view moments there. Beautiful looking game. I'm enjoying it in bit sized chunks. Could get pretty repetative if you were to have a several hour session though.

That is a fact i have to agree with there. i played it when i first got my 8800gt and within 3 days i was lik ohh god kill another person, i did play it 8am-12pm everyday tho

I love the fact there are so many different game vids on youtube.

I just had to go hunt for a grid patch it keeps crashing at start

Ok im gona admit it, im still drawn to tom clanceys HAWX. plus it gives mea reasone to go buy a joystick

Does anyone know how to get DX10 to run on XP?

I have downloaded it and installed but still recons im runing 9.0c.

I did read in a mag you can force it to run but they then didnt go onto say how, google isnt prosperous either.

It was in Custom PC mag they di an article about forcing DX10 on xp but never went on to say how. I hope that mentioning a pc mag isnt a banable ofence if so i will change it.

Some gamers have been misled by the Crysis demo’s Advanced System Options, which don’t allow you to select the Very High settings in Windows XP, even though you can in Vista. This implies that the effects require a DirectX 10 renderer, but gamers over at the Crysis-Online forums have found that you can edit the game’s config files to force on the Very High effects in Windows XP, and it apparently works.

Does this mean you can actually run DirectX 10 games on Windows XP? Nope, but it does mean that the Crysis demo uses DirectX 9

That was just unlocking certain effects which they had locked into DX10, there reasoning being only high end PC users would even be able to use them (people with the high end DX10 cards). With Crysis Warhead they gave the options to everybody :). I dont think Dx10 has ever been succesfully put onto XP.

Thats one of the reasons i want to upgrade my os, XP is getting lost in the past. theres no point me running sli cards and cant even run dx10, my dilema is do i wait for windows 7 or go for vista.

Id wait for Windows 7. Theres a positive buzz about it, and it sounds like what Vista should have been.

Would i be right in saying vista was a form of testing ground for 7? from what i have seen a lot of vista displays and stuff are used in 7!

Im considering downloading windows 7 so i can try somethings like games and stuff, but how would i go about getting drivers and stuff for the likes of gfx
