Hello.

First I'll describe my current system below;

Corsair Spec 03 Case
Intel core i7 3770 3.4GHz 3.9GHz Turbo
Nvidia GTX 760 2GB
8GB RAM
1080p 60Hz Monitor

So basically i want to be able to play most/all games at full graphical detail with some AA included if possible, but i don't want a GPU that would be bottle necked by anything else I've already got..

I'm on a budget of around £400-£500, I've looked at cards such as the 780 TI and the GTX 970, but again I'm not really sure (its my first gaming build, coming from console) so its all new to me and I'd hope you are able to assist me further.

Thanks

Questions:

What power supply do you have?
Are you likely to upgrade your monitor in the near future?
Are you desperate to buy now or can you wait?

I've got a 700W Power supply, and its pretty urgent as the card i have now isn't the best for newer games.

Monitor wise, i'd rather not upgrade, would i need to?

At the resolution of 1080p, you are not too likely to run into vram issues, so a card with 4gb vram should be enough for what you want.

Your cpu should not present itself with a bottleneck for your gpu, unless you are likely to go sli or xfire in the future? As a rule of thumb, most people would advise to go with the best single card for your budget. With that in mind I would be inclined to go for a gtx 980 https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-260-EA&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812

That said if you don't def have to upgrade now, then it may be wiser to see what AMD brings to the table with the 390/390x?

Gibbo has slashed a deal on the 290x for about £230 which is a bargain. As Andy said above its almost as fast and for 1080p its more than enough!

Your options are thusly:

Cheapest: Take advantage of the this week only on the 290x.

Half Way: Nvidia alternative to the 290x would be a 970.

Most expensive: If you want to spend all your budget and get the fastest out of the three then the 980.

Up to you.

Honestly.... the 980 just looks poor value for money.
