I need help i was dumb sound card wont fit.

I orderd a new sound card from ocuk which came today woo.

But it doesnt fit my mobo

As you can see the heat thing for the mobo is blocking it.

Is there anything i can do to make it fit???

lol, if that's true "Insert Major Design Flaw Here!!"

Back on topic though, don't you have any other PCI slots where you could put the sound card in or maybe switch it with a thinner PCI card?

You can put it in a PCI-E x16 slot if you have one spare y'know. Should work fine.

Indeed the heat sink cuts right across the slot basicly i never really noticed it untill now. The card that comes with the mobo is a tiny supream fxII but the drivers for that are pretty pants.

I guess i could remove the heat sink but i'm not sure that would be wise.

I am pretty gutted

I have sli set up so i dont have one free i dont think i shall look now.

Any one know if ocuk would take it back?

As others have said it doesn't need to go specifically in the PCI-E 1x slot, you can put it in any size PCI-E slot and it will run at 1x.

i had a spare slot under mytop grahpics card thanks a lot guys

Is there any differance running it in that slot compaired with the other one?

Blasting out some acdc now

No the slots are fully backwards compatible, you just have one less slot for an additonal graphics card that's all.
