i believe my motherboard is not working/lying to me!

got an asus p5e3 deluxe wifi @n motherboard, 3870 X2 graphics, PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad-SLi PCI-E 750W Power Supply, Q6600 and 2 gig of OCZ DDR3 @ 1333mhz.

not my first build so i have some idea of whats going on, but now im stumped as i have RMA the board but the problem still exists :(

basically everything starts fine, for about 2 secs, i get no image on my screen (tried a 8800GTS aswel, same story) the fan sounds like the card is workign at 100%

is there anything glaringly obvious it could be as im starting to get :( about it all

Are both power connectors plugged into the board?
Have you checked the CMOS clear jumper/switch? Try clearing CMOS
Are you getting any beeps?
Have you tried with 1 stick of RAM at a time?
Have you tried removing any non-essential peripherals such as PCI cards, etc?
If all that fails, try taking the board out of the case and just operate it on the box with just 1 stick of RAM, CPU, graphics card and power supply hooked up.

1 - both were
2 - done many times
3 - dont have a chassis speaker
4 - yes, no difference
5 - never put any in
6 - no different from having it in the case

try a different power supply.
power supplies can be a bit weird when they decide to kick it....they can give a small amount of power to light up a few led's and spin a few fans but not much else.

ive even had one give enough power to work a 4200ti perfectly well and run windows/games n all but when i put a 6800 in then i got nothing.
i ended up ordering a new 6800 only to find that didnt work either.
changed the power supply and all was well.
