Ok. Heres the deal. since i don't know? 2000 ive bought PC Games done only a few Levels. of Single Player then jumped into MP and never gone back to finish them.

Games i need to complete

HL2 - EP1-EP2
F.E.A.R
Crysis + Warhead (done up to Assualt)
COD4
Left 4 Dead
BF2142
BF2
Portal
UT3
COH
AOE3
CNC3

thinks thats it.

The Things i i can kind of start the SP but get bored as there's no Contact (talking to humans) then jump back to MP.

i seem to get lonely in SP.

I Need ideas on how to successfully complete SP of the above games without getting bored.

Also be nice if you give me a list on what game to do first!

I would love to complete these too :(

Uninstall all multiplayer games. Either play single player games, or find something else to do.

I always find this.. I start playing single player games then rarely finish them! I enjoy playing them, its just I seem to get bored after a while and never go back to them!

If you get bored of singleplayer, why force yourself to play it? If its not entertaining to you then do something that is.

i have a short attention span so... i get bored of playing a game after around 30mins to an hour... I usually do manage to complete a game but it just takes weeks.

Currently working on chapter 5 of The Witcher: Enchanced Edition.

then i've got Mirrors Edge (played first level)
Fallout 3 (completed main story, working on Anchorage expansion)
GTA4 (got to second home, and done a few quests)
Kings bounty - The Legend (untouched)
Saints Row 2 (played around with character creation and quit it lol)
EDIT: Crysis Warhead (untouched aswell)

i want to play.. but the motivation isnt there :D

Games I currently have installed but never finished:
Assasins creed: Got bored somewhere with only 2 more assassinations to go, eager to know the outcome but I got annoyed fighting guards all the time.
CoD:WaW Just don't know, bit boring game.
C&C3: Defeated NOD, got bored when Scrin came/
RA3: Last Soviet mission, got annoyed with scripted events.
Crysis Warhead: Annoyed that the game runs **** (20-27 fps mostly), it plays quite rubbish too with the aliens, and looks rubbish too ( ice levels + can't use AA as fps drop to below 20 then ).
Devil May Cry 4: Don't know where to go, about halfway through the game, last or semi last level you still play with Nero...
Fear 2 demo: Died once after u got a sniper, never played it after, just doesn't interest me and I never liked the original that much too. Too repeative and the scary moments aren't scary at all, I just ''lol'' at them.
Far Cry: Replayed many times but never finished due to reinstalls and hdd crashes... Got up to the river on a previous HDD and now I'm back up to checkpoint_control_Control_8 on this install... Just gets tough and I get annoyed and quit.
Far Cry 2: @ 24 or 26% iirc (or well somewhere in the low 20's), just a bit repeative and driving and checkpoints get tedious.
Flatout Ultimate Carnage: Finished Flatout 2 before and annoyed by the fact that the cars I want to drive are locked mostly and I suck with the cars you can drive on the beginning in the Race and Street class.
Grid: Don't know, just got bored of it after a while.
Guitar Hero 3: Finished on easy and medium, but can't even do 1 song on hard, I don't have the finger skills for that.
Guitar Hero Aerosmith: Don't really like aerosmith + the songs I do like are poor covers, stuff like ''all the young dudes'' is ruined ingame while the original is superb. Just poor songs compared to GH3 overall...
HL2: EP2: First I didn't finish it on the final battle, I hated tossing them mines at striders, then I lost those saves and now back up to white forest again just as the combine attack it, and just got bored with it. Really want to see what the ending/story is like but the gameplay itself got me bored.
HL Blue shift: Played for 30 mins then never again.
HL: Got annoyed looking where to go, about halfway through the game iirc.
HL opposing force: Played 10 mins then never touched again.
CS Condition Zero: Halfway through iirc, just couldn't be bothered playing with weapons I don't like ( snipers) and learning new maps/ looking for the enemy not knowing where I am.
Mafia: Never properly finished it, I mean I finished the story by dling all the saves and going through all the missions, but never went through the game myself. And the Free Ride Extreme missions are quite tough still.
Medieval 2 Total war: Control half of Europe, war with all my neighbors, just annoyed by all the micromanagement every turn means I always only play for 4 or 5 turns and get bored. Bloody papal states annoy me and I can't conquer Rome, I conquered the 5 papal cities in the north of Italy but can't take Rome ( got 3 full armies on the way though luckily and hopefully I can take Rome and shut the ****ing pope up).
Mirrors Edge: At chapter 5, annoyed with SWAT which can't be ignored/ran past sometimes.
NWN 2: Got up to the fort, realized combat is rubbish, quit.
Pharaoh: Bloody pyramid bug, couldn't finish levels genuinely as I didn't know how to get around it so I cheated the last few bits of most levels with pyramids... Now I know how to surpass the bug ( don't do all burial provisions before finishing all the monuments) but just cba tbh.
Rome Total war barbarian invasion: Hated it after being used to the original too much ( which I have finished 3 times), couldn't stand losing cities and religion, and the new units.
Sega Rally Revo: Average game just good for 15 mins a week, but I'm getting there.
Supcom FA: Used to get crashes on old config due to unstable OC prolly, now just CBA :(.
UT2k4: Can't beat the last level 1v1.

Yep I have trouble finishing games :(.

EDIT: Those are just the games in my Vista game browser that I haven't finished, I have prolly forgot half my installed games but I can't be bothered any more I think to go over my Xfire game list and my steam game lists now :p.

Speak to your mates on bluetooth headset while your going through SP mode.

I used to have the same thing with SP games but it was more a feeling of distancing myself from my mates as they would often be playing other games together. A great idea is to all get Skype and a headphone+mic combo and you can have a laugh with your mates whilst playing through games.

might use teamspeak :D

im kind of glad its not just me!

everyone i know in real complete the game then dont play online >< they say its such a great game (campaign) i wanna see why lol.

In my experience this is mainly down to being semi-'addicted' to a multiplayer game. From around 1998-2003 I only completed about half a dozen games as I was playing so much QW. I then took a conscious decision to attack more SP games and not let myself get put off or find excuses not to play them.

So I bought a new graphics card and gave titles like Deus Ex: The Invisible War a chance, not letting the fact that it had RPG elements put me off (as had done with the original). Turned out I really liked it, so then I got Deus Ex. This showed me that maybe I could enjoy playing something which wasn't just a generic pick-up-and-play FPS or arcade Racing game as I had mainly done for the few years previously. In the ~5 years since then, I've completed around 90 games (I keep a little txt file of them - really wish I'd recorded the dates now :/)

The irony is, looking at my list of games, while most of them are highly regarded titles, there's quite a few on there which are just pretty average/basic games. So for example, I've completed Mashed, Battlefront 2, Area 51, Pariah, C&C Renegade, Darkstar One, Chaser, Crashday, Driv3r etc. Yet I've never played WoW, Fallout 3, BG series, CIV4, MTW2, GalCiv2 etc. And I barely started Oblivion and NWN. I know that you might look at that and say maybe that's just my taste in genres, but I can enjoy strategy/RPG games.

IMO unfinished games generally fall into two categories:

1) Games you start playing but don't get hooked and give up very early on (typically on the first level or after maybe 30-60mins of play
2) Games you found reasonably enjoyable until you got lost/stuck and the game wasn't quite good enough to motivate you to push past that part of the game.

One thing I've found works quite well on games you were enjoying is to take a break from games, then reinstall them at a later date and restore your savegames. Often that bit you found so tough suddenly seems much easier with a fresh approach. Here's some examples of games I completed after a hiatus:

Halflife ~2.5 year break
Mafia ~3 year break
GTA:SA ~3 year break

I've recently come back to GTA3 after a ~6.5 year break and managed to progress to the third island (only a couple of missions further from my savegame) although I think I may have ground to a halt again.

One game I really wanna complete is NFS:HP2, I know I was very near the end of the game on the tree thingy. Trouble is I've moved house twice since then so although I've got my savegame, I can't find the cd :/ It's the only NFS game I haven't completed from NFS5 onwards.

i think the main reason i dont like doing them is i started all the games on my old pc didnt backup the saves then on the new PC dont want to start them again lol.
