I need help with my wireless

i have broke my ariel on the card so my signel isnt as working as good as it should be, i did by a wireless card from a carboot was only cheap and i couldnt get it to work. i dont have a clue what i am looking for in this area of the pc. i need a wireless card to connect to my sky wireless box in the kitchen and my pc is in my bedroom so i need one with a good signel. any advice or guidence in what i need would be great and how do i go about installing it etc thanks

well i play a lot of online games like WOW,LOL, and download a lot of games from steam. what is the different in the wireless card and the usb adapter?

The one you bought, did you install drivers for it?

i cant really remeber i still have it as i never get rid of computer gear haha i can have a try tonight when i get in from work. how do i find out wat drivers i would need. also can any expaling the numbers, like 150mbps or 5ghz does this mean the strength of the signal lol.

Wireless cards supposedly have better signals than USB dongles due to the big aerials.

I would get an access point though, that way you can configure it as a wireless bridge and then just plug it into the wired network card of your pc without ever needing to configure it again, that's what I did briefly with a Netgear WG602 & my Virgin Superhub.
