I will do a checkdisk now
I just did a memtest, for approx 1 hour. No errors. Is 1 hour enough ?
Depends really I like to also do one test but others have said errors have been found later down the test. Your issue sounds like hard drive could be dying.
Can it be the slaves hard drives? My main hard drive is a brand new crucial m4 SSD ...
Is that what windows is installed onto?
Yes my Windows 7 is installed on the SSD
Though it has been transfered from an normal hdd a few weeks ago.
Now we getting somewhere. You better starting fresh with a new windows install onto the SSD. Copying a OS from one drive to another has always given me problems.
I know that I should start from zero, but it will be soooo long to reinstall everything... but I guess I have no choice if I want a smooth install
Tomorrow, I change the PSU. If that still doesn't work, I might redo a full install.
But the strange thing is, my system works very well when it's been running. It's just when it has been shut down for a few hours that it's difficult to start if off again.
Would you have an explantion for that ?
Looks promising.
Forgot to ask if you have OC`ed your Cpu.
As you did`nt mention you had made any changes in the bios, when i asked you, i assumed everything was at default settings. I would save your OC to a Profile and restore default settings. Then when you install your new Psu and it fires up OK, then load your profile and see if the problem still occurs.
Ok, just put the new PSU and so far it works fine. I think it might be a voltage problem since it worked this morning after I put a little more voltage
Actually to tell the truth I'm a big noob, the clicking sound wasn't coming from the PSU, but from the fan just next to it![]()
