Ok so I have about £200-£230 floating around in my bank account and I really need to upgrade my AGP system's graphics (Currently running a ATi 9600 Pro) I need some advice on which card I should buy for my system and will leave me with enough money to purchase myself a 19" Widescreen LCD or enough money somewhere close to the price of one.

Mobo: Asus A8V Deluxe
PSU: 350W thing from years ago :P got one molex flying around.

I just need some reliable advice on what I should be buying. Thanks a lot in advance =).

Its AGP, which is what I’m concerned about I can wait ages to save up for an x1950 or get an x1650 now. I really need some advice.

Well I'd check a certain auction site for an x1900/x1950 (make sure it's not HIS). Otherwise get a brand new one from here (Sapphire).

Save up the extra if you need to. The X1900 walks all over the x1600 and isn't a great deal more in price now G80 is here.

I think in a price to performance ratio the x1900 wins easily at it's new low price ;).

Get the card first then save up the extra for the screen.

I've went from loads of low end cards (Ati rage pro, TNT, Voodoo, mx440 and others) to 9800 pro > X800XT PE(AGP) > 7600GT OC (PCI-X) > x1900.

From your 9600pro to X1900 would be a phenomenal jump and you'll never regret it. For AGP there is no other and will let you game away happily with some decent eye candy on.

Cool ok, thanks, and what about my PSU. Will it be able to power a x1900/x1950 with one spare molex flying around? The PSU is 350W.

Asus A8V Deluxe
Thats PCIE last time I check

£230 for GPU and 19inch tft
best place to buy that would be ebay

It isnt - its an AGP socket 939 board.

The A8V-E deluxe is PCI-E tho i think :)

I have an Asus A8V Deluxe & fitted a gainward 512 meg 7800GS+ AGP & it absolutely rocks,
Haven't checked out the current price but its in your price range, not sure about your 350 PSU running it tho

Is the 350w PSU a generic version or a 'make'?

To be honest, I'd look at getting a new one anyway...

Made by a company called Eagle :P old as hell. Well I think I'll go ahead and buy myself a TFT monitor then see what money I can get together to buy a new PSU, then a new graphics card.
