i need some good 'free' icons (ico files)

mainly looking for USB drive icons and computer hardware ones, google gave me crap, and i know in the past i have found sites, but these days it looks like i need software as well, anyone know where i can get old fashioned ico files!

Installer. Although the icons do seem to get unpacked to C:\Windows\Super Turbo Tango Patcher so you can get the individual ones you want that way.

I've just made me look like a plank. I thought I couldn't unpack the icons but using 7Zip I've just unpacked the icon pack.:rolleyes:

Get 7Zip if you haven't already got it and then unpack the icon pack. There will be a folder called '$_OUTDIR' with 5 sub-folders. 3 of them have 'res_' at the beginning. These 3 are where the icons should be.

thanks, does this use much mem up? my pc is getting a tad on the old side and just wondered how this would effect my system?

Well the main install is changing the icons over. So really the icons should use the same resources as the previous Windows icons.

There is a Reloader.exe that runs when Windows starts, all it does is check that the icons haven't been changed in any way. You can stop the Reloader from running by disabling it in the main install. It just means that if you turn it off and an icon is changed you'd have to reinstall the pack rather than let the Reloader do its job and restart the PC to allow the reloading to take place.

It will send all your passwords to me, upload the porn you have to a file server I have the use off. It will then install trojans and virii before simply installing some icons. Once it has installed the icons it won't install any skins mainly because once the virii have run you're screwed.;)

Seriously, look at your desktop now. It will only change the icons for say IE, FF, TB and other icons that you see dotted around.
