I need some help - PC freezing when playing games

its VGA cable with a DVI converter on it.

Even a VGA to DVI cable has the exact same results. It's a shame really, it isn't a bad monitor by any stretch of the imagination, its just decided to pack it in.

I may wait till the weekend, see if they do another deal on these samsung monitors before the VAT back offer goes away, then take it from there!

Strange, if you've tried a different cable and you know its not the graphics card I guess it must be a fault with the monitor :(

Good idea, wait a bit to see what the deals are like. New deals Wednesday too - might be some good ones there [though bare in mind the BenQ will probably go up then too].

Well, the Hitachi HDD died two weeks after installing it. Taking all my games and documents with it.

Booted the pc up today, and it took ages. Eventually it booted but didn't recognise the HDD. Thought it was odd so replaced the cables etc, still no joy. Couldn't get the thing to even appear in the BIOS.

I think I may actually be the unluckiest guy in the goddam world when it comes to pc's. Just as I'm thinking I'm sorted, something else has to **** up to spoil it.

Oh that sucks :( You do seem very unfortunate.

Was this a new drive?

Yeah, I have already RMA'd it, and its nobody's fault I guess. But it's extremely frustrating. Luckily I still have my SSD working (touch wood) and my original HDD. So installed stuff on there and still have a working pc.

It's more annoying because im currently revising for exams. Not the ideal time for yet another breakdown.

Yeah same, definitely a time you want your PC to be working. Hopefully the RMA is smooth at least.

May I suggest Dropbox or similar to back up your most important files?
