I tried to install ubuntu from a disk on to my pc in some free space that i had on a second drive. I already had windows xp on my pc.
It didnt work so i tried to remove buy deleting the partition on my second hard drive but when i reboot my pc it comes up with:

Grub loading stage 1.5.

Grub loading, please wait
Error 22

How do i fix this so my pc just boots my windows xp as normal ?

Do you have access to your XP cd? To completely rip a thread on another forum (saves me typing it out :p):
Step by step:

1. Put Disc in drive

2. Startup PC

3. Let the PC run into the CD

4. Choose the Recovery Console

5. Type you admin username

6. Type your admin password

7. Type Fixmbr (also fixboot for good measures)

8. Type exit

9. Eject Disc

10. Load windows !

11. Enjoy !

for reference, you've just deleted the grub config files, that's why you get an error. i'm guessing windows had a paddy after you installed ubuntu, it's because windows doesn't like when it's not the active partition so you needed to use a liveCD to make the windows partition active again.

5. Type you admin username

6. Type your admin password

is there a way to find out what these are? as i have not written them down and i cant remember them.

it will be administrator but you would have had to have put a password in when you installed XP.. that's the one you would need to use.
