I need to break a PC

There's not much that 'just happens' blown fuse, knackered components stopping post,
you could try just removing the jumpers all together, but ive never heard of jumpers falling off or chaning themselves, or the bios chaning.
You could try unplugging during a bios update if you have duel bios, swap the hdd sata cables around so it doesnt boot, remove ntdlr file off the OS drive, plug them into the wrong controller, use old cables udma 100?
It sounds that you might have some duff ram lying around, remove front cables for switches & leds
 
You can always just rename the gfx driver, I did this before for a test and just changed the dll name by one letter only 2 people out 10 found that one, was a bit mean as that is really hard to notice.
 
If the pc uses ps2 mouse and keyboard, switch those 2 round, the pc wont boot.

I had this problem given to me for my new job, along with about 4-5 others, one of which, the thing wasnt switched on at the plug.
 
Switch the power on the PSU off, or unplug / switch it off at the mains, if they don't check this first then don't hire them :D.

+ Then disconnect the wire connecting the power switch on the front of the case to the mobo if they pass the first test.
 
Turn the brightness/contrast down on the monitor...

I was called out once on an 'emergency repair' job. Arrived at the scene, looked at the machine (It was a luggable with a built in screen)... Anyway I could hear the CRT's normal whistle (yeah I can tell if a CRT TV/Monitor is turned on by the high frequency whistle), so went straight for the brightness control.

Easiest fix I ever made. Customer still had to pay the call out fee naturally.
 
Just remember that people in interviews may not always be on top form, also some of the issues people have mentioned could be solved by a complete muppet that got lucky, but get missed by a decent worker who couldn't think under the pressure of an interview.
 
Install Linux on it !!!

That will confuse the cr:eek:p out of them.

Do let us know what you did and how many people found it, also storys of monkeys that couldn't find a tree in a forest !!!

What i've done if i've wanted to stop my brothers using there PC due to them being naughty heheh, i'll just set the hard drives to none in the bios and it will just not load and pop up with no harddrive found takes seconds to do and simple to fix.
