Right, it is my mates 21st tomorrow, and she wants us to dress up as pirates! I was thinking not to... But then I changed my mind!

How can I look like a cool pirate? - I do not want to spend too much for one night!

Pictures will be taken if good ideas are mentioned! :)

Boots, black trousers rolled up ontop of the boots. White/cream baggy shirt, waist coat. Eye patch and hat :D

Old boots, torn up muddy old baggy trousers, stained ripped baggy shirt, sword, pirate hat, eye patch.
What I did, found my old work boots, wire brushed them, rubbed them in mud.
Tied a pair of jeans to a car, drove them up and down the street, tore them a bit.
Just tore the shirt, strapped one of my swords to my belt (don't walk through crowds of people if you use a real sword), pirate hat and eye patch available from any decent costume shop.

Why would a man who spends all of his time on a boat have muddy boots?

Because fake mud on your boots was freaking cool in the 17th Century Carribean.

maybe from the clay weight in poorer non cargo ships to keep the boot sat in the water, also would be the main cooking area preventing the ot cooker touching wood directly.

omg I just remembered when I was a kid I dressed up as a software pirate, my eyepatch was a floppy disk and my parrot was a polygon.
