Just got wolfenstein The old Blood without checking min requirments would someone suggest a good buget graphics card min specs required 2gb AMD Radeon HD 6870 or Navidia geforceGTX 560. My mobo is Asus M5A78L LE, CPU AMD PHENom11 Quad Core 955am, mem 8GB Corsair vengence ddr3, PSU Coolmaster GX 450w, HD W.D caviar black 500gb, running win 10.I built this system in OCT 2011, My CPU is running at 3.2 ghz and the game needs 3.5 ghz would someone suggest some overclocking settings for me to achive 3.5ghz or would i need to upgrade CPU?, i am using a normal cooling fan but would update to water cooling if it was a requirement.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Have you tried playing the game yet? Minimum requirements are a suggestion rather than a rule, so you might be able to get away with what you have. Having said that, the new RX 480 comes out tomorrow and should be around £200, so that would probably be the first thing to look at as an upgrade, and it looks like the GTX 1060 is just around the corner.

I'd try to fire it up and see what happens......worst case you can't play and will need to upgrade :)

with 480 coming out tomorrow will be a good time to upgrade also

Thanks for the suggestions guys, yes i have tried to run game with no luck i was thinking of a buget graphics card around the £100 mark, and see if i can overclock the CPU for this game.if that fails it time for me to build a new system or upgrade CPU & Graphics card.

460 or save a little and go for 470.....which should be 150 or less

You won't get very far with overclocking on the stock cooler. You'd need a good aftermarket cooler. You'd be able to re-use it though if you do end up upgrading the cpu as most will have adpaters for different sockets.

£100 should hopefully get you something like a 7950 / 7970 / 280 / 280x.

I agree, wait a bit and see what the prices of the new mid range cards will be. And you'll only need to overclock the CPU if it bottlenecks the GPU, and that's something you can measure with programs like MSI Afterburner.

I think if you spend £100 on a card it might not handle new games very well, especially in a year or two. You could look at the 2nd hand market though.

Thanks for the information everyone ,i am now thinking of waiting to see how the AMD RX480 preforms and works out price wise.

What cpu is it. Not a Pentium 4 3.2ghz I hope.

Second hand 280x can be had for £80. Terrific card for the price. For 120 you might get a 290 or gtx780.

He said it's Phenom 955.
Should easily OC to 3.5 or 3.6 on stock cooler with no extra voltage and just an FSB bump. I wouldn't throw too much into that PC.

As for the GPU, wait till tomorrow and see. A 4gb 480 should be decent, if not a 960 could be OK as well and should drop to around 120 soon.
