So Here goes, I bought a few years ago this package from Overclockers -

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tita...-4.0ghz-complete-gaming-system-fs-084-og.html

Since then, my requirements have changed slightly, I spend about 80% of my time editing videos for weddings and my CPU just isnt coping any more (Hits about 90% usage when previewing edits), I've recently upgraded hard drive space and installed another 8GB of ram, migrated the OS over to a new SSD, but its still struggling on larger projects, so its time to upgrade to an i7 i think.

BUT, will my mother board accept that? or do i need to upgrade that as well? I'm comfortable fitting & setting things up myself, its the compatibility that I don't know much about, so If any one has advice or suggestions, that would be a massive help!

You're only able to upgrade to a 4790K at the best, but you'd have to buy second hand.
The upgrade frankly probably will cost in the region of ~100 pound and net you ~20% at best (Same clocks, higher clocks, higher percentage).

If you're doing editing I'd personally move over to an AMD 2700X set up.
