Hello, I am after some advice for cooling my new rig.
Here's the spec:

i7 3820 CPU
Asus P9X79-Pro Motherboard
16GB of 1866Mhz Corsair Platinum RAM
NZXT Switch 810

I'm looking at a Corsair H100i for cooling. What would you recommend?

Also GPU, I'm looking at a MSI 680 , what are your throughts?

1 more, will a 650W PSU run this OK or shall I beef it up a little

My advice - grab a h110i for the cooling on the chip and get yourself a AMD 7970 GPU. 650W PSU will be more than adequate ensuring that it's a decent brand/make.

What would your budget be for this as we can advice further. You could probably get a heatsink cooler but I think your RAM is too tall for most of the big'uns.
 
Thanks for the response, I've ordered a Corsair H100i on next day delivery
I already have a Corsair HX 650W power supply
Budget for graphics card is £300-400. I own an MSI 560Ti at the moment and really like the MSI twin frozr cooler.

Hi liam i just installed my h100i last week and I’m more than happy with it, good performance and it looks nice.
As for the GPU i'm not sure, I’m stuck with a MSI GTX 560ti aswell atm
 
Just found this GTX 580 lurking in the clearance dept. Yes I know its Gainward (not everyones cup of tea) but just look at the saving, not sure how it stacks against the 7970 spec'd above though.

I would personally snap up the Gigabyte 7970 whilst it's on 'this week only' offer. Fantastic card and will last you a lot longer than the 580.

After much consideration and nut clocking research I think i'l go for the 7970.
I've only ever used nvidia cards so far so I'll feel a little dirty to start with but I'm sure my wallet will breathe a sigh of relief.

Right, off to overclockers on Friday!!! Are they open on Friday???

Now, another question, HDD or SDD what size make etc

I have a 128Gb Intel 520 SSD and a 2Tb SAmsung spinpoint and a pair of 500Gb older samsung spinpoint.

I was thinking of the 250 Samsung pro SSD or a pair in RAID

Asus VN247H 24"Widescreen Super Narrow Bezel LED Monitor

I'll be building it up over the weekend
