Spending Christmas with my GF's parents this year, they're very West Country and her Old Boy loves a bit of cider.

Can anyone recommend a decent one to take? Seen a few sludgy looking ones in funny shaped bottles in the pubs I've been to with him, so something along those lines.

Bottoms up! :D

Westons Vintage is very good.

Westons Organic is also good. You can get Organic in a box dispenser if you need something big.

This place does some good cyders, I visited the farm back in November and picked up a few things:

I can recommend the classic reserve, the whiskey finish, and the Winter warmer (drink like mulled wine - delicious!)

Though I think they're a pretty big cyder place in Cornwall so he may well drink their stuff quite regularly.

+1.

I'd drink their stuff all the time if it was easier to get hold of.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys. I had a Google last night and found the Beers Of Europe website, some nice looking ones on there but I don't know one from the other!

I see some Aspalls on there which were recommended above, and am I staying away from Scrumpy?

Westons cider is more west country than Aspall. I prefer Westons, but Aspall is good. Henney's Vintage is also good.
