hey.
slight panic here, i have a portable USB hardrive (320gb Western digital) that was working fine earlier, now whenever i try and do anything with it, i get "file could not be accessed, i/o device error"

also, when it does "work" i saved some files onto it, and then when i check them, they've not actually saved.

im panicing atm, as my computer is fairly flaky, and i was using the hardrive as a backup if anything went wrong with it.

note: i did have the harddrive plugged into the tower, and then a usb stick plugged into my logitech g15 keyboard, apparently this can cause a conflict?
and if go into device manager, and properties by type, there is a conflict (yellow question mark) on 'PS/2 keyboard'

please help, deadlines are very close and im dreading ive lost the work!

if you are that worried invest in a £20 usb stick and back up onto that while you sort this out?... or £10 on blank DVD's

I would remove the hard drive from the case and test it plugged straight into the PC, if it works its the usb setup... if not its faulty..
