Im having an issue i need resolving, the other day i received my P5Q-E from the members market, the motherboard wasnt in the best shape, after unwillingly waiting 3 weeks for it to be sent it arrived wrapped in Bubble-rap not an anti static bag, there was no socket protector cover installed and a few LGA pins in the socket was bent which was a pain in the arse, all the motherboard mounts were threaded onto the bolts still through the fixing holes on the motherboard, they had been unscrewed slightly and were loose in the holes but threaded tight.
After spending three weeks without a pc and only getting replies to emails that wasn't requesting shipping numbers i came to the conclusion that returning the motherboard would be a long and painful experience on top of the already long delay. I set about making the mobo fit for use, i streightend the pins which wasnt to hard as i had done this type of repair before, double checked none of them shorted eachother and that they all sat uniform to the rest how they should, they all still had there spring to them so would make correct contact with the cpu still.
I carefully clamped the standoffs and unscrewed them, and installed a test cpu and ram, the pc boote, happy days, so i installed my Q9450 and it booted, so i set up the rest of my system and installed a fresh win 7 instillation.
After installing all the software and drivers for the mobo i proceeded to download the ati drivers for my 5850, it kept canceling so far through on firefox saying that it was unable to read the source, i started up Ie and it seemed to download and install fine. after all was done i set about overclocking, the cpu hit 3.5Ghz no problem, cant go any higher as memory is an issue. but the cpu is stable, ran a couple of hours prime95 blend test to start with to test and it was fine, ill do a 12 hour run when i get things sorted.
The download issue reared its head again once i tryed to continue a download in utorrent, it errord saying there was an I/O device error, then while downloading off of the internet again through firefox more downloads failing.
Ive ran a full test on both my hard drives and they passed with flying coulers, i have reinstalled all the mobo drivers with the latest builds and the problem is stilll there. Does any one have any idea what else would cause these issues?
Sorry for the above bloated post, there is a bit of a rant in there but its the first time ive got it off my cheat, havnt contacted the seller yet, im constructing a strongly worded email
