I'm about to buy a 2nd hand motherboard, but the owner claims the I/O panel is gone.

Are these universal, or will only the one coming with the motherboard fit?

I looked on the manufacturers website, and they have it, but it costs 19$+shipping from USA

It's an Asus Maximus Extreme-Z

You need the one for the mobo. Looked on the Bay?

The I/O plate is not strictly needed to use the motherboard.

I just thought it was an universal layout?

I haven't looked on the Bay, but I will, just thought maybe I could get away with some cheap I could find at home ;)

Each mobo has it's own I/O layout, technically you could get lucky and have a matching one, or one with more cutouts than the mobo has I/O ports.

As mentioned though, the panel isn't required just part of the enclosure to keep stuff out :)
