I/O shield problem :p

I don't really know how to remove it. I can see that it slides inwards, but it has a few small metal things pushing about three little boxes down on my motherboard. I can't remove my motherboard because of this issue. Help? ;S

The motherboard comes out and goes back in with the IO shield in place, unscrew then lift it back and upwards

If you mean the tabs, they'll bend out of the way when you lift the board out

The shield itself only comes out or goes in when the motherboard is out of the case, youre right in that it pushes in from inside the case

Ahh, yeah, so I just bend them? I wasn't sure and didn't just want to take it upon myself and **** things up

I cut them off personally, they're only present to ensure that the IO shield, case and board are grounded. Since the case and board are grounded anyway, and various shields no longer come with any tabs at all, I don't see the point.

You can certainly bend them out of the way then bend them back afterwords. Caution is always a good idea with computers, sensible to ask
