I/O Shield?

Hi Guys,

I know this may sound like a REALLY simple and nooby question but I have been looking at buying parts to make my new PC and on the I/O shield (Where the motherboard goes into on the case) has small metal "prongs" inside the component slots that would surely block the components from going in (I have included a picture to illustrate). Do I bend these prongs back inside towards the case, bend them outwards pointing away from the case or completely snap them off?. I have never built a PC myself so sorry if there is a simple answer!! haha :).

Thanks Guys

Most do yes, you may have to tweak the larger ones that press down on the LAN port for example to get it to slide in with ease.

Usually the I/O plates these days are tailored to the motherboard they come with, so there is no unblocking of ports by bending back of the ones that block them, in most cases. Easiest way to be sure is just to test fit it before putting the motherboard in the case.
