I passed my driving test in Dec 1996 - What can I ride please?

Hi all,

I feel like buying a Moped / Scooter.

Was looking at the Honda NSC50R.

I got my driving licence in December 1996 - What am I allowed to ride please?

...and will I need 'L' plates etc..

Any 50cc if the car test was passed before (Feb?) 2001. You'll need L plates.

I thought driving license was irrelevant and you can ride upto 125 with a CBT?

Before 1 Feb 2001 - you can ride a 50cc bike without a CBT, but you can not ride a 125cc bike without a CBT.

You should have category P (moped) on your licence.
