arrrrgggghhh 
i have got the sad ipod icon. i have a 30gb video ipod and according to the website as i cant get it to revert to disc mode it has to go for servicing. as i have only had it 3 months it should still be under waranty but not having bought it from apple do i have to send it back to where i got it from or am i better taking it to an approved dealer service place . if i do have to take it to a service place i guess i will hav to fork out for it. is this likely to be expensive?????
