I really like Firefox....How about Thunderbird ?

doesnt work with hotmail unless addons/patches are used. interface is carp. give me Outlook anyday
But Thunderbird follows the same philosophy as Firefox. The standard download has the basics and then anything else you want you download yourself. It helps to keep the file downloads small. If you want extra functionality that someone else doesn't then you download that functionality.

I don't think webmail is meant to be supported through an email client hence why it wasn't included in TB. POP3 and IMAP are supported because they are for use in an email client.

Been using Thunderbird for a couple of years. Got thousands of emails in various folders and its just as fast as when i first started using it.

I use the webmail extension to check hotmail and i've got the lightning extension to add calendar functions (altho the integration isn't brilliant).

Looking forward to being able to tag emails in TB2.0 and improved RSS features :)

EDIT:

Oh yeah....and minimise to tray rocks for TB and FF

Thunderbird + MinimizeToTray extension (runs Thunderbird from the taskbar).

Wins.
Ah yes I do that as well. I tried that with Firefox but I forgot I had a Firefox running minimised and opened up a new one. I use the MinimizeToTray with Thunderbird now.
