I’ve spent the past month trying to fix my internet on my computer everywhere else in my house gets internet but my computer refuses to connect via Ethernet or any other method I’m at my wits end with this. I with BT and I use Microsoft 10 latest version. Can anyone help me out please

I’m not getting any errors weirdly enough. I’ve taken it to a shop I’ve updated the drivers can’t remember what else. I have a 6core ryzen processor with a gigabyte B550m motherboard 600w power supply and a 2090 graphics card. I’m using a Ethernet cable for internet and the cable works on other computers just not mine.

Let's start with basics. With the cable plugged in open a command prompt, type ipconfig /all and post the results here.

Then you say you have devices that work on the same cable? If so plug them in and do the same. We can then compare the working to the non-working and maybe spot something to try as a next step
Node type-hybrid
IP routing enabled-NO
WINS Proxy enabled-no
Media state-media disconnected
Does this help any?

I would get a Network card, USB or PCI and try it in another PC then try it this one.
If the card and cable work in another PC, but doesn't in your PC its likely to be software problem.
You could boot off a Live Linux CD and see does that work also.

If the card and cable do work on your PC. Then its hardware issue.

Another slim possibility is an electric spike thats taking out the network card/motherboard.
Thanks I’ll see if that works and if it doesn’t I’ll have someone look at the power supply

Was this all that came back? Was there no label “physical address” ? If not it means it doesn’t recognise there’s even a network adapter in the computer. That means either faulty hardware or a driver/software issue. As advised, look for little yellow exclamation marks in device manager next to something that looks like it’s your network adapter. That would suggest a driver issue.
I got new drivers and also checked and they were fine. Their was more on the config I just didn’t know if I should share all the information on their I don’t know much about it so I didn’t want the risk
