Resprayed last year by impact, retrimmed by MJ interiors, big ice including flip out screen, mp3 changer, rockford subs etc, recon engine with polished and ported head, polished inlet, coilovers, G60 brakes etc

Reciepts for over £18,000 spent, previous PVW mag feature. All for £4k

Someone convince me its a bad idea! :p

It's pretty cool in a retro sort of way. Not what I would want, but for £4k it's pretty good considering the work done on it. Not sure if I'd want to spend £4k on that though :) There is something I like about those cars - always have don't know why...

Is it a 16V or G60?

Mind you the 16V's were nice, spend a few grand on an engine rebuild and for under 10k youve got a mental car that can push out 180bhp+ and look the dogs.

Do it.

If it's a G60, get the same done and a supercharger refurb by Jabba.
*edit, just looked at 16v inlet manifold**

DOH!

Anyway do what i said for the 16v

Its yellow. Nuff said :p

Seriously the only thing I dont like about that is the colour.

Thats the best bit!

Its a 16v, couldn't insure a G60.

Nasty interior.

For that money you'd be looking at a G60 or VR6 if you're careful...

Whats nasty about half leather/alcantara heated electric recaros

And G60 will require expensive rebuilds and VR6 is too front heavy IMO Oh and doubt I could insure either.

Penski's got fickle taste.

If you like it mate, get it!

Looks a well kitted out car for £4k

Look at whats been spent on it already - BARGAIN

I love it...i would also buy it on the basis that it looks like the old back to the future car(actually it might be).

Then i could show my friends the flux capacitator!

:D

i'll grab my coat now, shall i?

It looks like a monkey projectile vomited inside it - yellow is not good on the inside of cars.

As for G60s being 'expensive' - get an Eaton M45 conversion.

Sorted. No issues, uberpower and you can buy an entire new blower for less than a hundred quid.

Very true! I was thinking of getting an Eaton for the 214 :D

Had a look on the bay and was suprised how cheap they were. Was all up for 'charging it but couldn't be bothered to find a way to mount it.

No good if the bottom end wont cope with it though.

i.e it's been to the moon and back

Nugget Yellow, always attracts attention. Im currently looking at getting a VR6 in a lovely metallic purple, amazing car for £4500.

£4000 is a bit steep for a 16v but with the work that has been done it is well worth it. It very easy to fit a G60 charger to it afterwards as well once you can afford the insurance. You can fit other chargers as has been mentioned but for me it would have to be the G60, just has a certain sound and its so easy to fit.

The cars really attract attention but parts are expensive and difficult to get hold of. Its things like having the headlight wiring loom uprated because the standard llights arent very bright, there is also the window wipers, as standard they are pap and you need to replace with custom ones or Lupo GTi arms etc.
