Bit of a rant so forgive me.

But I’m I the only one who hates I-tunes with a passion. Why make it so complicated to do simple stuff. Granted I hardly use I-Tunes as a result. I never stick my phone connected to my PC.

Only got a I-phone 3GS but I find it cringingly so poor when using I-tunes that I just use it last resort. When sky updated its news app they made such a mess of it that it did not work past the splash screen. So I went from an app I used daily to not being able to use it for news. No roll back option!

So as the phone had not synced since October the last version that worked was still on the PC. Why oh Why is it not as easy as dragging it across suggesting I only want this here that it, nothing else. I dragged it across and could even see it placed on my PC screen that showed what the I-phone screen would look like with the news app on it. (I deleted it off the phone yesterday) Got the result in the end with the old app back on and just will not update it.

I’m not itunes illiterate so its my fault too but W T F does -will install mean over just install. God knows So it tries to sync 17 apps that I’ve removed off the phone lucky for me the News app is the first and I just cancel when it went onto the next app trying to add it copy it across.

I sitting there thinking all I wanted was right this is what is on your phone and this is what your back up has on the PC. Drag anything you want over and it will be copied then and there, nothing more !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its not intuitive at all and although its probably fantastic to me is a mess to work with.

I always get there in the end but boy do I hate it. Give me a PC anyday.I even bought a Creative Zen years ago and still use it over the ipod as I could just get my Music on it so easy.

All Windows users hate iTunes, it's a fact of life because it really doesn't work well in a Windows environment.

No problems with it under OS X though and smart playlists are one of the greatest inventions ever.

I agree with you totally. iTunes with or without an iPod is an absolute pain in the arse. I bought an iPod nano a few years ago I hated it so much I wagered it on a game of pool and lost on purpose. It managed to screw up my files' metadata somehow IIRC. I'd rather not listen to music outdoors than put up with that pos.

foobar2000 paired with any "normal" portable music player is an infinitely more powerful solution.

I hate it whenever I have to use it.

I generally buy songs from iTunes and then export them to winamp to play on my PC. Winamp may be old but it is simple and it works.

Imtoo do some great iPad \iPhone software.
I use nowt else. ****es all over iTunes.

All though iTunes has to be installed for it to work.

Can never get my head around how people have so many problems with it that leads to them hating it so much.

It doesn't work in Windows or Mac :D

It simply fails at even a basic level, like copying files to my ipod.

I find it works perfectly, though each to their own.

"Some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it's a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe."

I detest it as much as the devices themselves are intuitive to the point a 2 year old can unlock and use them itunes is the bane of my life. Sometimes I just want to do something simple and if I haven't done it regularly I'm ending up googling how the hell I do something.

For instance stuck a ripped audio book on my HDD. Linked it to itunes went to music and struggling for about 10 minutes trying to get it on playlist to then sync it to my phone. Flicking between menu's until I could get the correct window to sync it to a playlist. Every time I use it the layout looks different.

I know itunes is marmite but Lightroom works in a similar manner as a front end for files stored outside the program but is so much better and intuitive to use, it actually lets you just drag **** where you want it! I should spend more time with it but find it the most frustrating experience of any program I have used to a windows machine.

User error, most likely but make it as useable as the device and everyone would be happy :D
