I there a way to dim an addressable rgb stip

The one I have is a tad bright so would like to dim it.

Could I put a resitor in line with the 5v supply?

Is it software controlled? YMMV with dimming, might see eratic flickering or some colours not working. Software defined RGB LED strips usually have brightness control by way of PWM rather than voltage regulation

With the motherboard software, mine is dimmed to 50%

Its an Asus mobo using Aurus.
