I had probs with the windows instale on my first build today ...It was saying it was having a problem copying some files ... i kept getting blue screend at around the 50 % stage .

This happend about 8 times

I asked at a few forums ( including this one ) and the most common answer i got was maybe bad ram .

I removed on stick of the G Skill HZ and windows went in sweet as a nut .

I later tryed to boot up with the other stick back in...blue screen city :(

Took it back out ... not a problem all night .

What do you guys think ?

If i need to get it changed what do i have to do ?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that info , I will try all of the above .

Im realy happy with my new machine , Even with the 1 gig its lighning fast compaired to my old PC , That being the case im not toooo upset about the ram problem .

Every thing is running sweeet , The only problem i seen to have is shutting down windows , It seems to hang at the point just befor it actualy switches off , I have to do it manualy with the switch at the back on my psu ..Any tips ?

Hi tim

I have 2 brand new sticks of 512 DDR 3200 that i use if i have to send them back will thay be ok you think ?

Thanks again guys

I think it might be an incompatibility somewhere, I just tried both sticks individually and they're both fine, as soon as you put both in I hit problems.

I reckon I'm just going to sell one of the sticks, the only game I play is CoD2 and that doesn't really need 2GB, my one stick is currently sat at 260 @ 2.6v

I really cannot be bothered with RMA's anymore.

Dont give up just like that tim

Maybe somone here can help you with the problem .

Anyone know what might be the problem here ...I would like to know just in case its the same problem i have

Thanks in advance

Hi dude's

Ok i have an update on the HZ ram ..

I tryed to get the 2 sticks to work together but had no joy :(

I then come across a post on another forum saying that the A8N32- DELUXE mobo has issues regarding acceping 2 sticks and the " fix " was to set up using one stick and get the timings and valtages set up and then put the other one in .

Smids i took your advice and looked at settting the " RAM voltage, Vdimm to 2.7v " but i could not find " Vdimm " only " DDR " ...I changed it from auto and set it to the lowest setting 2.6v and then put the other stick in and it worked ...but only untill i ran a program...It woulld then shut down my machine .

I noticed that after i got the 2 sticks to run my vid card temps went up to around 50 without anything running...Is that supposed to happen ?

I ran 3d mark and it shut down my machine after about 45 seconds ...I then ran americas army and it shut down after about 2 minz . i left the PC sitting idle and it stayed stable for about 20 minz .

I took the other stick out and reset the DDR voltage back to auto and the machine runs fine...but only with 1 gig .

I have a feeling that i can get this to work but i just need to set the mobo up to accept the both sticks ...smids i need your help :D

I have downloaded CPU -Z and had a look at my settings... but to be hones i would not know what was right and what was wrong .... In the Memory tabb in the channels box it says single ... should that not say dual ?

I can take some screen shots if that would help .

Smids can you help me ?

Allso has anyone else got a A8N32- DELUXE that has had this problem ? ..how did you fix it ?

Thanks guy's and any help ( no matter how small ) would be appriciated ;)

Maddad 1 gig :(

EDIT : I just read the 2 above comment ( posted while i was typing this post ) and now im not sure what to do

Return tbh. G.skill have accepted a fault and the problem you describe is exactly what has been suffered by many others i.e. dual channel/running 2 sticks causes crashes. Thanks Andy for updating us :).

Ok smids thanks mate .

I have a RMa number and i will send them back , hope the next lot are better.

One good thing to come out of it all is i have been in and out of the Bios and had a good look around ...I would never have went near it befor :D .

I understand it a bit more and it has made me less afraid of maybe looking in to overclocing

Thanks again smids

UPDATE :

Hi ,

Ok just a little update on the HZ ram

I got the new sticks this morning ( thanks ocuk ) and give them a try together but thay never worked

But the last few days i have been scooting round a load of forums and i found somone who had the same set up as me and the same issue with the ram .

He told me what timming's to set in the bios that worked for him , After much lip chewing and head scraching i managed to find the right place to change the settings .

I set it as follows 3-8-4-4 and then put the second stick of ram in , Booted up and weeeee it worked , I did a quick 3Dmark to see if it stayed stable and it was fine , I then ran BF2 with all the settings turned right up and it was awsome .

At the moment its all running good , I set up my wireless network and im connecting at 48mbps ( need to get that better :D ) and all is sweet in the maddad house .

Here is a pic of some of my settings and temps , If you can have a look at it and see if anything needs changing or if anything is wrong i would appriciate it .

Thanks for all your help

Hello... Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner - I'm still looking for good links for you to read to make sure you know what you are doing. I don't want you to do something and break something else you see. Plus, I'm trying to work out how your RAM is running faster than the FSB. I thought only the FX series (San Diego's onwards) were capable of doing that. How exactly is your RAM running at that speed? Have you set any dividers?

Hey smids ..glad your ok hope the flu is better :D

Thanks for taking the time to help me out..i need it .

I have no clue why my ram is running faster than my FSB..all i did was change the timing settings in the bios .

I have been gaming and boy is it fast ..im on a wireless network on this PC and im getting pings of about 15 ms i cant belive how fast it is .

All the games i have are set to the highest setting and thay all run smooth and sweet ...its like a dream comming from my old pc to this one .

Im off to the flicks to see final destination 3 .. i will call back here later ;)

thanks
