I think I have grown out of gaming

I,m 32 and still love gaming.... I dont get to game as much as i used to with a wife and three kids but still try and grab a few hours a day after dark..

I loved gaming when I was younger but not too fussed by it now. I'll buy a game for the PS3, complete it, give it a go online and then it will sit in the cupboard until i either dig it out again or sell it.

But I think dannyjo is right, games have changed. I remember playing the old sonic games etc on the megadrive and you had to work your way through with no saves (if I remember right) so you played and got into them so much more. Now a days, you save before a hard bit, dont care if you die, and then just load your save. If you died on older games it was back to the start you go...oh the hours i spent replaying levels on sonic for jumping into a pit of lava or spikes lol

If you're that bored maybe you should find something productive to do... upgrade your grades, go to uni, get a part-time job , take some courses. I don't know but at that age, you really shouldn't be playing video games so much anyway.

Thing is - I'm in the navy and am currently shore based at the moment. I am joining my ship in September and won't be able to okay through a lot of games that I want too - just can never work up the effort.

I want to get a few titles for my laptop as apparently life on the sea after work is boring as anything, so hopefully that will spark a new interest.

Haha, I knew it. Everyone thought you were freebasing crack or something but you're on a navy base!

How on earth did you not know the OP was in the Navy? Almost every single thread he created at one point proclaimed that fact!

Ah, that'll be it then.

I was only joking about the drug comment about base (speed). I do remember the other threads where he was talking about the navy.

I probably still spend the same percentage of my free time on gaming as I always have, It's just now that there is a lot less of it to go around.

Hapens to everyone.

Going through it right now, but I know it's because I have bought too many games. And when I do that I
A) Struggle to pick what to play
B) Rush through a lot of what I do play
C) Keep wanting to go back to old games I did B to.

Curerntly, all I am focusing on when I game is Just Cause 2. And at the moment, that is just a bit on weekends.

When I am done with that, I will probably pick up whatever game is shortest to play next.

ME2 got me back into gaming, couldn't stand the first that much, was getting itchy with games, went out and spent around £40 on preowned titles, picked up some corkers, including ME2. Also, Forza 3... Now have a lot of hours clocked on that.

Just remember you don't have to buy new titles, read some old reviews for games and pick them up at cheapo prices!

Definetly agree with this, there are some good 2nd hand bargains for games to be had. And at least that way you won't loose out too much of your money on them if they're bad

I don't think there has ever been a better time for gamers. The amount of choice and variety available if you look for it is massive. You're probably playing the wrong games.
