I think I just need an amp

We're moving to a new house in three weeks and my space is going to be less than I had in our old one but more than I have at present in our rented hovel. I was using a pair of Rega Kytes with a Sony micro system plus DAB tuner but that's all packed away at present. I'm currently using an elderly pair of Aiwa TS-B50K powered speakers which I don't think are too dreadful but I've probably just got used to them. I've realised that all I really need is an amp to drive the Kytes (and just possibly a sub) but I don't want a full-size one if I can avoid it. Are there any mini-sized ones around? I'm totally out-of-touch with the hi-fi world so please be gentle with me. ;)

The Sonic impact T-Amp is compact. About £30 but another £20 for the required PSU :) . Sourced from a famous auction site and a competitor (which sells electronic components) respectively. A 3.5mm stereo to 3.5mm stereo cable is required to link it to the PC. Can't think of any other mini amps other than the one I built myself :D . The Super-T version is a higher qualiter version with a higher price tag :)

Thanks. I wouldn't mind the Super version but the only supplier seems to be in the USA and the postage costs make it a non-starter. I've done a bit more research and found that Teac makes a mini-size amp which sells for around £150 as part of its Reference 300 system and RicherSounds sell a couple of mini systems for only a little more. Still open to other suggestions however.

I bought the Super from the USA - and it arrived within a fortnight. The power supply didn't require a step-down transformer at all, contrary to the advice on the page selling it.

It's one of the best sounding amps I've heard for under £400.
It's very very close in quality to my Quad 77, although a little more 'digital' sounding, and naturally much more quiet.

I'd say go for the Super - it's well worth it!

I'm using mine with a Slim Squeezebox3 and it's just superb!

How much was the super T? I'm finding my full sized HiFi a bit awkward for space myself. I was even considering a Cambridge SoundWorks CD 740 or similar.

They're currently just over the hundred squid mark, including postage from the USA.

Right. The general consensus here is to put up with the Aiwa while I sell the Sony with its unused speakers then buy a Super T to use with the Kytes and try to sell the Aiwa. Thanks for the input everyone.
