I think... I may have found it!

Went to see a car today. Nothing amazing - I've been doing it regularly for a year now. It was a 94 Rev.3 Toyota MR2 Turbo T-Bar.

And... it's exactly what I want :D

Powerful, well built, excellent condition, un-modified, well maintained, plenty of features, comfortable and affordable!

I think I'm going to cry :p

It's done 87,000 miles, has a recent clutch and usual service items and will have a new cambelt on Monday. Seems virtually immaculate through and through, and I reckon I could walk away as the owner for £4,500.

Is the GT T-Bar spec with steering foglights, ABS, electrically operated and folding mirrors, premium sound system, removeable roof panels and climate control.

Comments welcome, as always :)

Looks nice.

Make sure you slap some new wheels on her though, the ones on now look quite dated.

It's a turbo - which command a higher premium. Shoddy Rev1 ones I'm sure can be had for £1500 nowadays. £4500 looks a good price for that car though. It's always nice after seeing so many that aren't quite right, then suddenly, one pops up that's exactly what you're after, and at the right price.

Go for it dude!

Looks to be a good buy mate. Not a bad price too.

When you going to see it next? Going to buy it I guess.

me n a mate of mine had to travel from southend to southport to see a 96n rev3 GTS.

took a 206 hire car up there lol took out the gts for a test drive, was shocking when given beans after driving the 206 lol

fun lil cars, sideways as hell fun

Well, as always, it needs to get my dad's "seal of approval". He doesn't want me to get ripped off, and with his 25+ years experience in the motor trade, he can smell bad-car a mile off, so I do value his opinion.

Although the trouble is, these sorts of cars deviate wildly from what he would usually buy, and so he has trouble seeing how I can consider paying £4,500 for a 12 year old, 87,000 mile, high-maintenance car. Especially when he sees I could buy a brand new car (Albeit a Suzuki Alto) for the same sort of money!

This is it - fun! I don't drive to commute, so I only drive to either go somewhere I want to go or purely for the hell of it. The MR2 Turbo seems to be, in this price range, fitting the bill perfectly. 241 imperial horsepower, mid-engined rear wheel drive, and a weight of less than 1300kg mean the car rockets from 0-60mph in apparently less than 5.5 seconds, and on to a suitably high top speed. Combined with very nice handling and gorgeous looks, it's almost too good to be true!

That's a cheap one, I've been offered £7k for mine :)

I wish mine was worth something even close to that, I bought mine for nigh on that when it was 3 years old
